Mindi earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in Administrative, Social Policy and Community Based Social Work Practice from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). After completing FAMU’s MSW Program, she committed to continue post-graduate education in Psychotherapy for Clinical Direct Practice in Social Work at Florida State University (FSU). She is an, active and positive-standing, State of Florida Board Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-QS) and Qualified Supervisor for Florida Registered Clinical Social Work Interns. Additionally, She’s a Florida Certified Behavioral Health Case Management Supervisor (CBHCMS) credentialed by The Florida Certification Board and Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (CSW) by the State of Georgia (Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors).
Mindi’s practice focuses on the treatment of depression, grief, trauma, anxiety, relational/familial concerns, self-image/esteem, and life transitions for clients that include adolescents, adults, seniors, and families. She’s an holistic, strength based, person-centered therapist who believes in collaborating with clients to utilize their strengths to help them sort out their challenges and achieve their goals. In this process, realizing how important it is to assess all aspects of an individual’s life that impact their well-being, including their physical health, support systems, work or school environment, and faith/spirituality. In order to achieve this goal, she utilizes a number of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems Therapy, Psycho-Education, Behavioral Modification, Mindfulness, and Relaxation Therapy Techniques.
With over 10 years of clinical specialization, she has expertise in psychotherapy, comprehensive assessment and treatment planning, crisis intervention, risk analysis, resource allocation, mental health advocacy, education and care management. Mind’s experience includes child welfare, adoptions, therapeutic behavioral on-site services, targeted case management, community mental health, geriatric psychiatry and case management, acute care hospitalization, inpatient psychiatric care, Long Term Care, Victim-Survivor Emergency Programs, Managed Care, and the private sector.
